Growing together. Learning together. Belonging together.
A weekend for fathers and sons aged 11–16 to step away from everyday life and into the wild.
This weekend creates space for fathers and sons to connect with each other, with nature and with a community of men.
Drawing on practical skills and traditions traditionally passed from one generation to the next, we explore what it means to grow into manhood in today’s world—and what fathers can offer their sons along the way.
Our time together includes:
- Carving, bushcraft and practical wilderness skills
- Original fire-making
- Learning about useful plants
- Walking, swimming and exploring the mountain wilderness
- Time alone in nature
- Fathers sharing family wisdom, traditions, stories and myths with their sons
- Opportunities for conversation, challenge, play and connection
There is something powerful about learning side by side.
A father teaching his son how to make fire.
A son discovering what his father knows.
Stories being passed from one generation to the next.
Both learning something new.
Time spent together in the wilderness can create a different kind of conversation—and strengthen a relationship that will continue to evolve as a boy becomes a man.
Deepening the bond between fathers and sons, while connecting across generations, can offer a powerful sense of belonging, identity and purpose.
